Dear Parents and Students,

Yesterday students were given a lot of information for our new writing and research project for this quarter.  I just wanted to check in with everyone to make sure that you are all clear on the breakdown of work over the quarter.  I have tried to divide this large project into smaller pieces that students can successfully complete.  Please let me know if you ever have questions or any modifications need to be made.  I have a few students who still need to pick their eminent person.  Please feel free to email me at taylorl@riverview.wednet.edu or call me at 425-844-4593.  Thank you for allowing me the privilege of working with this incredible group of students.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Taylor

Dear PARADE Themes students:

Please remember that we have library next week and all students need to return their books in order to check out new ones.

If you are in the 4th-6th grade themes class you also need to bring the biography that you were reading for your literature group back to class so that another group can check it out.

Can’t wait to see all of you next week!  Mrs. Taylor

Dear Parents and Students,

It was great to see many of the students on Wednesday.  I am just sending a quick note to check in with the students.  I would like to know how they are doing on the plethora of work that was assigned last week.  Have they been able to find an eminent person they would like to research?  How is their reading going?  If they send me an email at taylorl@riverview.wednet.edu to reply to my questions, they can earn five extra credit points for next semester.

Now that you have had the opportunity to read a couple of books about the Ancient Asian cultures, please compare and contrast these cultures with your own culture.  Remember when we compare we are looking at how two or more things are similar and when we contrast we are looking at how they are different.

Please share at least two similarities and differences.  Also, use examples from the text and your own experiences when explaining your ideas.  You should also be signing your blog answer with your initials only and making sure that it is posted before class on Wednesday the 21st in order to get credit.
